Emergency Evacuation Plans have been updated for the pool. All independent swimmers requiring assistance to leave the pool have a copy of their own plans and their named assistants. The plan for all swimmers remains the same

Escape Procedure ( As issued by the Centre Manager)

  1. If you hear the fire alarm which is an electronic siren
  2. Follow the instructions of the Lifeguards
  3. Carers are to assist the Lifeguards with clearing the pool.
  4. The Lifeguards will assist anyone using the hoist out of the water
  5. Lifeguards will then assist you should a full evacuation be necessary
  6. Await a decision on poolside as to whether we require a full evacuation
  7. If a full evacuation is necessary follow the instructions of the Lifeguards and Duty Manager

The staff are aware of our specific needs and also that some swimmers become distressed if the siren is activated.
