News for 12th December

Congratulations to Lucy Bowen who swam 25m for a badge and certificate.

We have been invited to Rugby Games on 3rd May (note holiday weekend). An entry form is attached (two formats).

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the party, presentation and raffle. Special thanks go to Phil King (music), Barbara Lanwarne (Raffle  prizes) and Santa.

Harnoor Singh Bal was awarded his club T shirt for regular attendance.

Reminder that the Christmas Party, Presentation and Hamper Raffle will be in the Creche after swimming next week.

A reminder that the main pool club championships will be held next week. Please warm up as usual and you will be called  when it is time for your 25m freestyle sprint race. There is just one race for each swimmer. Barbara will present the medals. 

There will be a Christmas Hamper Raffle prize draw at the Christmas Party.  Tickets are on sale on poolside next week, so a reminder to bring some cash with you.

Certificates and club trophies will be presented at the party in the crêche (8.15  on 12th December). 2024 winners Beth Evans, Amos McGrattan  and Lacey Conlon please could you return your trophies to Sheila ASAP.

The last swim of 2025 will be on Friday 19th December. The pool will be closed on Friday 26th December (Boxing Day) and will be open as normal on Friday 2nd January, for the first swim of 2026. Don’t forget the Christmas Party is on Friday 12th December, after our swim session.

Thank you very much Chris Lanwarne for donating your medal collection for recycling as awards for club competitions.

Daniel Hodge and Braiden Hooper swam their best 25m backstroke times before their backstroke drills. Well done to both of you.

The club sprint night will be held on 28th November  in the main pool and 5th December in the small pool.

Daisy and Lucas Brookes have said goodbye to us for now. Best wishes for your studies at university, Daisy. Thank you very much to your gran for the donation to club funds and the tub of chocolates for the Christmas Party.

The Bring and Share Christmas Party will be 8.15pm  to 9.15pm on 12th December(after the swim). 

Sheila

There was a coat left behind after swimming on 17/10/25 (see photo). Sheila took it home for safekeeping (pool aware Sheila has the coat) and has contacted parents to ask if anyone has lost a coat, as well as posting it on the website, but as yet, the coat hasn’t been claimed. Sheila is going to take the coat back to the leisure centre tomorrow morning (Monday) unless anyone contacts her before then.
