Important changes to the Passport To Leisure Scheme from 01/11/12

In 2010 Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council carried out a review of their Passport to Leisure (PTL) Scheme.

In February 2011 the decision was taken that those that are residents in the borough who are  either under 18 and in full time education, over 60, have a disability or are in receipt of certain benefits will be eligible to apply for a PTL card with its associated concessions. The PTL card is also used for measuring attendances at the centre.

The council decision came into effect from April 2011.

The PTL card is free for those who qualify for it and a Disabled Swim with a Passport to Leisure will be free. Therefore any changes to arrangements will not cost anyone.

You are can download the attached PTL form, to ensure that if you qualify and live within the borough you can continue to swim free or with a concession here:  http://www.nbleisuretrust.org.uk/upload/docs/2358/ptl_formweb.pdf

However should you not live within the borough or fall outside of the PTL criteria you will from the 1 st November 2012 be required to pay the standard swimming price. The price for the disabled swim sessions are as follows:

Non PTL Rate

Adult – £3.10,  Junior £2.30, Senior Citizen £2.30,  Disabled Adult £2.20, Disabled Junior £1.50

PTL Rate

Adult on benefits  £2.30, Junior Free, Senior Citizen Free, Disabled Swim Free

Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust operate a disabled carers policy that should a user with special needs require assistance, then a nominated carer can accompany the individual and is entitled to a swim for free.

Application forms for a Passport To Leisure can be downloaded here: http://www.nbleisuretrust.org.uk/upload/docs/2358/ptl_formweb.pdf

This is the first time in the club’s 30 year history, that some of our members will have to pay for a swim.
